Vehicle Donations
SKCAC Industries now offers our friends the opportunity to support SKCAC and the people we serve through our vehicle donation program. Accepted vehicles include: cars, trucks, sport utility vehicles, recreational vehicles (RV), and boats.
- Use this online form (hosted at Northwest Center's website, our vehicle donation partner)
- Call us at 253-852-0179 (from King county) M-F 9am-6pm, except holidays
- Call us at 1-877-747-8222 (from anywhere else in the U.S.)
Important: you must have the car title or other release of ownership in order to donate it. Not sure what the title looks like? See these examples. Still have questions? Call us at the number above.
Our partner, Northwest Center, is fully licensed and insured to receive donated vehicles—hundreds of people use this service every month. Donating your used vehicle is easy to do, benefits SKCAC Industries, and provides you with a tax deduction.
- Proceeds of vehicle sales support SKCAC programs for adults and students transitioning from high school with developmental disabilities.
- As a vehicle donor, you're eligible for a tax deduction (which might be more than you would receive from a trade-in).
- We maximize the value of your donated vehicle before resale to give you a better deduction.
- All types of vehicles are accepted, including autos, boats/yachts, trucks, sport utilities, motor homes and airplanes. For donations of large equipment or specialty vehicles, call our national coordinator at 1-877-747-8222.
- We accept vehicles in non-running condition.
- You can donate online 24 hours a day.
- Our partner's staff will help you handle the paperwork and does most of the work for you.
- Donating is a quick and easy way of disposing of vehicles that are no longer needed.
Getting Your Tax Deduction
When you donate a vehicle, you have certain responsibilities to provide documentation and forms required by the IRS regulations, and by the state laws concerning transfer of vehicle ownership. Your donation of a vehicle is tax deductible when you follow the IRS requirements. The donation must appear as an itemized deduction on your Schedule A of form 1040. The donation must be made to a qualified organization. Certain limitations on the amount you claim may apply. See IRS Publication 526, Charitable Contributions, and IRS Publication 4303, A Donor’s Guide to Vehicle Donations for the rules on deductibility.
